When I got her she was a very green six year old who had never been away from her mother for longer than a blink of an eye.
It took me weeks to get her to calm down and realize that she was safe without her mother. After I got her to calm down and open her
mind, I decided I wanted to venture out and train her to do something special.
I started out small teaching her to walk and trot on a lead and then to let me place her feet. I started showing July of 2005 where she placed
first in a small open show. Star has had many achievements since then.
Her championships and reserve championships include:
2006 Participation Award
2007 ORHA Reserve Champion Halter Mare
2007 SOBRA Reserve Champion Halter Mare
2008 ORHA Halter Showmanship Champion
2008 ORHA English 13-19 Champion
2008 ORHA Champion Halter Mare
2008 SOBRA Halter Mares Champion
4th place Halter Mare out of 13, and 6th in Showmanship at a 4-H show in Perry, Georgia.
And many 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons from open shows Star has also qualified for Georgia Federation of Saddle Clubs State Finals for 3 Years.
You can look forward to seeing her in Halter Mares in 2009 being shown by my brother, Josh Weldon. Star will be starting her Western Pleasure training for this show season after State Finals.
